Diabolical Diane Thwarts Nakomis on 'Big Brother 5' Truly, if Nakomis doesn't win "Big Brother 5," I will feel that a large portion of my summer has been wasted. Because, really, with five housemates left, she is the only one worth a damn.Tuesday night begins with Diane, the house victim, bemoaning the fact that last week's second evictee, Marvin, dissed her on his way out the door by not giving her a hug. Drew appears bemused by this, while Nakomis barely hides her contempt with the sarcastic explanation, "Because Marvin loves to hate you, Diane." For her part, the irresistible-to-her-own mind Diane is sure that his cold shoulder had more to do with the fact that she "won't give him the time of day" rather than her self-serving ways. This week's Head of Household, Nakomis, is sitting pretty for the third time. She didn't particularly want to win this time around, but feels it's better than having Michael win. And it's not like it's her fault that the other contestants are lame competitors. Not that they are gracious in defeat. Diane goes on her whiney tangent again about how boring the HoH treat reveal has gotten boring and she gives Nakomis' food and cd a big old "whatever." Drew notes that Nakomis is definitely proving to be a real threat to the game and Michael after seeing a picture of his other half-sister declares that looks run in his family.Speaking of Michael, it seems that he has an invisible mark on his head declaring that it's his time to go. We remember hearing mention weeks ago that he was on the agenda for dismissal, but now his draft number has suddenly been called and the Canadian border is turning away all tourists from the south.Karen feels that Nakomis shouldn't have to put her half-brother on the block. Nakomis says that she is willing to do whatever it takes to win the game, but that her morals have a tendency to rip her heart to shreds."My morals need to be quiet this week," she decides. To this end, she lets Michael know that if she does nominate him she will have enough respect for him to make it so that he has an opportunity to win the Power of Veto, rather than making him a de facto nominee.Time is killed. This week it's with Michael's boasting about his balance and powerful martial arts' kicks. Diane mentions that her mother is a black belt while trying not to seem too unimpressed and Nakomis offers up to the Diary Room her feelings that he would not be able to defend himself in a dark alley.More time is put to rest with an introduction to the inhabitants of the house aquarium, including a shark with the best pet name ever -- Big Mother Trucker. Diane opines that Mohawk, the horny fish, reminds her of Marvin.Sheesh, Diane. Leave the poor man alone.Actually, Diane has bigger fish to fry. It occurs to her that Nakomis' likely nominations will be Drew and Michael. Snuggling in the hammock, she tells Drew that if this happens and that if Drew and Michael let her win the Power of the Veto, Nakomis will have no choice but to nominate her closest friend in the house, Karen.Drew is thrilled with this plan and the two of them go directly to Michael and get him to go along with the idea and all of its possible mutations, swearing that they will tell Nakomis and Karen that whoever is opposite Karen will go, but that they will really manage to get rid of the too trustful blonde.Drew tries to justify their scheming by saying that Nakomis and Karen are on a power trip and acting all cocky about their position in the game, when really they are doing no such thing. Instead they seem to be having a lot of quiet time in the HoH bedroom, absorbed in some activity that looks an awful lot like scrapbooking.Nakomis does indeed nominate Drew and Michael for eviction and the game is on. After a quick prayer session in the gym, all of the houseguests go out to the backyard to find five steel cages. Unfortunately, it's neither a cage match nor a go-go dance-off, but more of a MacGyver-ish jail break.Michael, Drew and Diane work together and Diane does with the Power of Veto, even though the spunky Nakomis gives her a run for the money.Karen and Nakomis think things are a bit odd, but Diane helps prolong their misplaced trust by going to Nakomis late at night and going on about the conflict she feels about the two promises she's made in the game: one to Nakomis, the other to Drew. All this to say, Diane does take her summer boyfriend off the block and Nakomis has no choice but to put Karen up in his place. Of course, Diane could turn around and pull another back-stabbing move between now and Thursday, but if she decides to play things straight in these last days, Karen will soon be finding her way to the holding house along with Marvin, Adria, Natalie and Will.
